June 6-8 Spring work weekend

Work Weekend may be cancelled due to weather concerns)

 Any  club member or guest rider considering joining the horse trail riding club can come  participate.  Check it out and join in the fun of trail cleaning and riding.  Learn the trails and consider becoming a trail leader.

Work Weekend Camping is at the Spring Campground

2025 Work Weekends are Friday afternoon arrival and Sunday afternoon departure

 Fourth Wiarton Work Weekend   and  Sunday Potluck

 Be prepared to do some walking to clear trails of rocks and fallen trees.  

What to Bring:  Pack nippers and saws for clearing trails.  Pack hay and water for your horse as well as food and supplies for yourself. Outdoor washroom provided.  Parking and overnight camping is across from the 5 Day Ride site.  Day starts 9:30-10:00.    Please remember that these are  Work Weekends.

Camp for the weekend or come for a day ride.   

Earliest arrival time is Friday noon onwards to set up camp and join friends around the campfire.

There is a lot of room for big trailers & highlines and lots of room to be able to turn rigs on a flat surface.  Water for horses and porta potty is available. Dogs must be leashed.  A fire pit is available.

 Directions: From Highway 89, go north on Airport Road.  The camp is on the east side of the road, just north of the Mansfield Outdoor Center at the former Youth Correctional Site. 


Helmet Rule:

  • Dufferin Forest is managed by the county of Dufferin and it has its own rules of use that are above the Chesley Saddle Club Rules.


  •  Safety 11. All persons mountain biking, horseback riding, or snowmobiling in the Dufferin County Forest must wear an appropriate helmet.

What is G2G Rail Trail

September 27-29 G2G Horseback, Buggy and Carriage Ride

A registered charity with the purpose of maintaining and advocating for trails along Southwestern Ontario's historical transportation route.

Starting at the Threshers park by the arena, riders and drivers will ride the "rail trail" to Auburn River Retreat Campground for a self packed lunch or treat yourself from the food truck.   Following the lunch break, we  return  ride to Threshers park.

Camp with your horse and get a free Poker Hand

Horse camping will be available at the Blyth Campground.   This campground has hookups, dumping station, electricity and bath houses.

The town of Blyth has all you need to pick up forgotten items.

July 11 - 14 Saugeen Bluffs Campground

This weekend is hosted by CSC and OTRA.   Horse sights have water taps and  two corrals.   Sites do not have electricity or sewer hookups.


Beautiful river scenery , hardwood forests and  steep hills.   Trails range from easy to challenging.   There is an outdoor sand arena to ride in and play equine  games in.   Bath house, laundry, playground and splash pad available.   Paisley village is  only 5 minutes away with a grocery, bakery and liquor/beer store.   A hardware with horse feed and supplies is just outside of town.  Port Elgin is 20 minutes aware on Lake Huron and has a beautiful beach.

*Private campground with direct access to the Ganaraska Forest on the east forest.  Box stalls or pasture turnout, bring your own pens or high line.  Running potable water available.   Community Fire pit with firewood supplied.  Hay available for purchase (please do not bring your own).  Outdoor kitchen and picnic tables and generator available.
